'TAKE A STAMP'

CRAFT STAMPER MAGAZINE

This week I have been struggling with my mojo it went on holiday without me !and the last few cards I have made have left me feeling dissatisfied with how they turned out.
But must admit loving this one thi is a me card ...if you know what I mean. I see so many beautiful cards out there in blogland using so many techniques and long to copy oops case them, but they never turn out right obviously I am just a plain and simple gal!
When I saw the Muse and the Card concept challenges this week my mind was just went blank, but when I was walking home from work today the idea for the muse challenge heart popped into my head - hearts and flowers like Julies card then I had the idea to back the heart with the colours from the Card Concept challenge and after lots of searching found a couple of sentimens that fitted ( I don't have many LOVE sentiments, originally I did the sentiment in gold embossing but as it is so tiny you couldn't see it!)
I think my card would fit the clean and simple for the card concept.
also noticed that my card would fit over at the Craft Stamper Magazine challenge as it is anything goes as long as there is a stamped image on it!

Supplies Wplus9 spring flowers stamp set
Hearts SU punch
Su endless wishes sentiment
Su lucky limeade and melon mambo inks

Thanks for taking the time to look and I will pop over  to have a peek at what everyone else has created ! xx

52(christmas ) card throwdown

Well thats my first Christmas card of 2015 done hee he.
Last year I had  a few done but not nearly enough so starting early this year! So when I saw the 52(christmas)card throwdown theme this week was inlaid dies had to give it a go as it just so happens that I had just received this die ..see getting prepared early too!
It is an Avery Elle die and speak about a jigsaw puzzle there was heaps of really teeny tiny pieces... had to cut it out 5 times as the pesky things kept just disappearing off my desk! But I got there and now have heaps of spares for future use.
For the holly berries I used plenty of red stickles (probably still be drying at Christmas time!) and matted it on SU lucky limeade .
Thanks for taking the time to look and will be popping over to have a wee peek at all your creations

Freshly made sketches

Hi,
I'm rushing in before the challenge over at freshly made sketches closes with this very simple card.I like the bow placement but not sure about the rest of it but aw well....
I embossed the background with a SU stripes folder cut it and popped it up with 3D foam with the SU designer  paper underneath and place the bow on more 3D foam.had intended to put on a sentiment  but decided it looked better without.
Sorry once again about the photo think my camera's getting as old as me as it has started putting shadows and lines on my photos that even Picasa can't disguise. But hubby thinking about buying a new one for our cruise ...only problem is my hubby mulls things over for months before committing ....I'm a see it like it buy it kinda girl!

Hope you have all had a great weekend
and thanks for looking

Allsorts

(Sorry for the truly awful photo but it is so overcast here at the moment!)

Well it didn't take long for my New Years resolution to make more time to do the things that I want to do to be broken ! but did manage to have a peek at the Allsorts challenge which is to use lace and pearls.

Now it just so happens I was in need of a bag for an upcoming birthday so I cut a lacy border using this lace stampin up punch and then diecut the large daisy from a (retired) die also from SU, added a large gem to the centre of it to make it more blingy ...got to have bling on your birthday! and finally added the pearls to the centres of the lace border. The bags I order online in various colours and last year I was surprised how much I use them,! not only for the girls but for men too ....check out my favourite here

Hope you are enjoying your weekend wherever you are and thanks for taking the time to look!

FRIENDS

This weeks challenge was a tough one on showCAse your style, they are asking you to use the above colours and the Less is More and  Uniko studio challenge is for love and friendship so wondered if I could bring the two together, not really sure if I have managed it if I'm honest!
I did the kiss method on my stamp..... would that count as the love??? :) using SU lucky limeade and tempting turquoise inks. Then popped the rectangle on top, stamped the Uniko studio friend in turquoise in an effort to clean my ink pad(so if you look close there is some green there!) and then using my stamp-a-magig the happy birthday in memento black.

Hope you have had a great weekend and thanks for looking

Colour Me!....

While browsing I came across another challenge that I have never entered before Colour me...! and as I find colour challenges hard ,thats why they are challenges I suppose!!! thought I would give it a go.  It also helped that this SU stamp(giggle greetings)  popped into my head whenever I saw the colours
Stamped it in black memento  and using promarkers coloured it in,mucked it up but did another then mounted them together to stand out more and then dry embossed the frame.
Really simple but quite pleased with it.
Thanks for taking the time to look

The card concept #100

The card Concept is back also after the holidays and they are celebrating their 100th challenge ...well done ladies on bringing a challenge that brings so many styles together and even better explains what each style is !!
Following their criteria then, I think my card falls under the clean and simple style .
I seem to be going mad on DL cards lately but I like them folded this a-ways (means I can also slip money or cheques in easily),so when I saw the beautiful photo inspiration this idea popped into my head.I have used the parcel idea before but for Christmas so wondered how it would look as a birthday card ,think it looks ok and might even use it on a money wallet!

I took inspiration from the striped background  for my 'ribbon' ( an Avery Elle stamp) on my parcel and the flowers are from wplus9, the sentiment is from SU and the tag from my stash.
Thanks for taking the time to look.

Muse #99

This must be a record for me three cards in a week... last year I was lucky if I managed 3 in 3 months!
Don't know about you but I only made one New Year resolution this year and that was to make more time to do things that I enjoy, and that seems to involve an awful lot of card making, hence the 3 cards! and an ironing pile that has grown ever bigger with each passing day, think I must be sticking to t! :)

The Muse challenge is back after the holiday break with this great card by Vicki Dutcher

My take on her card was to use the red white and black colour scheme and for the circles I paper pierced a circle around my cut out one, then die cut the Wplus 9 'happy' from black and white cardstock and layered it with the black as a shadow.Stamped the su birthday and layered it up and finally added the stars rather than sequins as I felt my card had a more masculine/teen feel to it.
off now to have a peek at what everyone else has come up with

Show CASE your style

I found another site that is new to me, while I was browsing and found it through the amazing Darnell's blog and its ShowCASe your style and its another CAS card challenge that is looking for one or more diecut on your card.

Weeell it just so happens this evening I was making a baby boy card for a work colleague and so my diecut is the circle that I cut out to showcase my SU ark stamp - love this stamp for baby boys or even twins :) and it was so soothing to get out my promarkers and have a colouring in session.

Off to get my work things organised for tomorrow ,but thanks for taking the time to look!

Opposites

(Sorry not the greatest photo had to use the daylight lamp!)

Well its back to work tomorrow :( so trying to squeeze in some cardmaking, came across the One Layer Simplicity challenge  while browsing Ardyths page and the theme appealed so thought I would  give it a go - The theme is opposites and kinda thought that would be an easy one eh well maybe not, took me a wee while to come up with this very very simple card!
 :)
But think it meets the criteria (even though the Happy was meant to be small case and didn't even notice until I put up here- oops!) with a WHITE card and BLACK stamping, a SHORT happy and a LONG birthday (love this Uniko studio sentiment so crisp ) BIG and SMALL hearts and the pink colour is shades of LIGHT and DARK.

Also think it meets the challenges:-
Crazy 4 Challenges
Clean and simple
Virginias's View
Clean slate
( I chose from the list
lots of white space and one layer)
