Colour me...!

Hi everyone isn't the picture from the Colour Me...... challenge gorgeous ? Love how the colours swirl into each other but boy did I have to think for this challenge!

Finally came up with this new home card first tried it with just the colour combo on plain cardstock but it just didn't look right so had a play and decided that I liked the pinstriped look ( they kinda remind me of beach huts ,not as my husband said circus tents!!!!) ,using 2nd generation stamping (think thats what you call it anyway !)
Then punched out the corresponding hearts in the plain cardstock (didn't have any calypso coral so its pumpkin pie ) and printed out the sentiment from the computer .
Finally I matted it in the daffodil card stock ...and this was my last piece and it just fitted phew! and popped the beach huts /houses up on dimensionals and actually I kinda like it though one of the houses stripes aren't matching as good as the other two and it bugs me!:)

Thanks for taking the time to look will pop over and visit you too

Muse

It is a really driecht day outside with sleety rain and freezing winds, so after we went food shopping - as our youngest reminded us that he needed to be fed at regular intervals,(.in his case it seems  every hour!) and there was nothing in the cupboards again can't think why ???;) I decided to barricaded myself into my crafty room til  I had come up with an idea for the Muse challenge and this week it is the turn of the talented Marion Vagg and the speckled background she made on her card reminded me of snow falling so that is why I'm making Christmas cards in February!!

I started by diecutting out a white and blue square then diecut the navy square with some snowflakes and stars, and like Marion had, I put them on square to my card but felt that there was something not quite right so twisted the squares around until I had the diamond .Used the stamp-a-magig to line the sentiment up under the image, then decided it looked better all around ...some came out better than others I must admit, and that was it a card for the Christmas box.

I would also like to add this card to challenge over at CASology which is to make a monochrome card.
Hope that you have had a good weekend wherever you are and
thanks for taking the time to look

Runway Inspired and AAA

Evening everyone...
Two new challenges for me today
I have been off three days on holiday and had great plans to do heaps of cardmaking but unfortunately my mojo went into holiday mode ! but when I saw this picture on the Runway Inspired challenge  it briefly came back and yes I know it is more orange than the coral in the picture but couldn't find anything in coral so went for the next thing, hope that is alright? and of course I then discovered after I had made my card that over at the AAA challenge their theme is orange..great don't you just love when something like that happens ??
The Runway inspired challenge gave me the inspiration for the stripes and the colour block of the skirt to make my matting. My sentiment which I found on the amazing Desert Diva's blog -which she is giving away free!!!! -  takes inspiration from those thick platform soles (can't believe that they are back ...near broke my ankle when they were in fashion when I was young!)

The AAA challenge inspired the zesty colours of my flowers and the rest ties in with the orange theme even the stripes of the cat in your  photo , So thank you ladies for the inspiration!!!
Also thanks for taking the time to look

Colour me!....

OLS 13 :Blend

Mmmm not really sure about this card for this weeks challenge at Colour me...! its not really striking is it? think its a bit blah but I had a great time coloring it I must admit!
I used a freebie stamp that has sat about for yonks in the cherry cobbler colour and then I discovered that I am much better at using a blender pen to pull out the the pink pirouette colour then watercolouring..unfortunately that took me about 6 goes before I discovered that :)It still just needed something so I highlighted all around it with an ivory promarker -when I photographed I wasn't happy so tried using a pale blue to highlight instead ....much better but unfortunately the challenge only says the  above two colours hee he and as I didn't have cherry cobbler card just inked an old bit to mat it with and added the sentiment from SU bring on the cake set..squint and so had to add the strip at the bottom and honest it is straight(er)

Had so much fun colouring it decided to do a one layer in more traditional dog rose colours with a different orientation and using the blue highlight which is much lighter RL, for over at the
One Layer Simplicity which cue woed it 'blend' after all I did use a blender pen!

Thanks for taking the time to look

A fusion of two

Hi there and Happy Valentines Day hope you all have a LOVEly day !
This week I have been trying to make a card for the Muse challenge which has this card by
Michele Ferguson
Proper male card  by Michele!.. and normally I love doing male cards problem is I don't really have many - in fact only have one pack bought to make boxes etc of  Su designer 12x12 brights -  background papers (what I hear you cry I know,I know but they never seem to work with me even took an online course to learn different techniques and beautiful as theirs were....mine  ended up usually being pulled off!) and on top of that no chevron stamps so a bit of dilemma.!
That was until I was browsing the Fusion challenge and saw the inspirational photo...
So decided to mix the two up taking the chevrons, stripes  (does anyone else see that the chevrons background paper is in stripes too or is just me!) the hello and the heart from the Muse challenge and the colours orange ,brown and teal and yes there is a green on the little table beside the armchair :) just have to enlarge the photo a good bit and also noticed that one of the cushions has a stripe down the side so incorporated that in the layout too!

Supplies used:- SU Pumpkin Pie designer papers and cardstock
SU word bubbles dies
Su stries stamp
SU sentiments - Four you and Regarding dahlias
Su  small heart punch

P.s and would you believe it but I love that little bit of designer paper maybe I will use it more often now!:)

Thanks for taking the time to look

Navy and white

What a week... I was lucky enough to get a mention at the Muse challenge with this card ,the CASology with this card AND the 52(christmas) Card throwdown with this one and I can't tell you how chuffed I am -ok I'm  over the moon !!!!!!!!!
So thank you so much ladies

Saying that I wasn't sure if I would manage this week to make a card as have been a bit under the weather ,the wee ones in nursery have all been going off sick with a virus that they have kindly shared with the staff :) but thankfully it seems to be getting better now.
So I thought that I would join in over at the  colour me! challenge which is for the colours Navy and White. I went with the predictable Christmas card using the navy as the night sky and sentiment (loving the SU endless wishes set using for all kinds of occasions!),I don't really have a Christmas tree that was suitable for this kind of card except for this one, decided to use white pigment ink from SU ...well maybe I'm not using it right but it doesn't stamp well this took two sheets of paper to get these three and they are not that great !and even though I heat set the pigment ink for ages it still smudged grrr.
Then as I have no navy ink pad ( can you believe that!) used a SU night of navy pen to do the sentiment,oh and the snow in the background I used  two old brushes rubbed them together to get the splatter (still had to heat set it) and tore scrap paper for the drifts.

Thank you for taking the time to look.

Casology

Brrr it is really freezing today and its supposed to be like this all week what a start to February and I had a few things to do this morning, but now sitting all cosy in my craft room - hope you all have had a good weekend wherever you are.

It has been a wee while since I joined in with the Casology challenge ,and  decided to use the famous James Bond download that I have ( in this house  the men all love James Bond movies!!! ) to make it.

It came to mind when I came across the red circle and white snippets that where sitting on my desk so sssssh all I had really to do was work out the placement for the SU sentiment and James Bond himself.
It came together in about five minutes but will be another addition to my male card box,I know I'm weird but I find female cards so much harder to do than male ones!

Thanks for taking the time to look and I will be popping over to have a peek at your creations too!
