Wedding and Christening

This weekend I have been busy doing some orders.
One of my work friends is going to a wedding and asked if I could make her a money wallet and card so this is the one she picked ,I have made one like this before but isn't it funny how we either add something or take away so you never really make the same card twice.!I added the middle square and the tiny diamantes at the top of the hearts this time and made the matching wallet...hopefully she will be pleased when I personalize it as requested

The second card is a christening card for my friends little girl.I really struggled with this one so in the end kept it really simple and mounted the front panel on pale pink card and hung a rocking horse charm from the ribbon ...but oh boy now I know why I never add ribbons ! I ended up calling in  a friend, thanks Susan!but still not happy with the ribbon wanted it to look the same on both sides! can this be done or am I being too much of a perfectionist??

So that has been my week so far hope you are having a good one where you are!
and thanks for taking the time to look.

Butterflies

I was loving having the time to take part in a few challenges a week in the Easter holidays, but back at work and this week I have only managed one so far this week and its Friday!!
Whenever I saw Marions beautiful card over at the Muse challenge fell in love with the clean and fresh colours and the simplicity of it.
So as you can see I pretty much CASed Marions card with a little bit of  my own twist! :-). I have always meant to buy a butterfly die but it appears I never did (more for the wish list) ,but I did have this punch by SU so  stamped a few hero arts butterflies and then punched them out, adhered the bigger one to negative space in the turquoise card, I then added some perfect pearls to the butterflies.the sentiment is an old SU one,but loved how the writing  looked.
I'm now off to sit in the back garden as it is so warm - like a summers day here in Scotland!
(long may it last)

Hope you all have a great weekend and thanks for taking the time to look!!

Birthday love

Here I am with another post again ..,,never manage this normally but then again I'm still on  holiday, and I have just been for a lovely breakfast with a friend and it has fuelled my brain cells obviously!

When I saw the challenge over at The Card Concept the first thing that drew my eye was the stripy wallpaper and the pop of bright pink lampshade against it and then I saw the colours over at the ColourQ  challenge and what caught my eye was the words 'one spot colour' and the rest was history as they say.:-)
I used scrap white and grey cardstock to make the square for my stripy wallpaper  and then punched out a SU heart in SU spotty DP in Melon mambo. It took me ages to stamp the sentiment (by flonzcraft) even using my stamp-a-magig as I kept smearing it but got there eventually.
Love the clean and graphic feel to it, so that's what style I am going to enter it at the Card concept challenge
.
Thank you so much for popping in by and taking the time to look

Muse #113

When I was making this card for this weeks Muse challenge, I really thought it resembled Michele's beautiful card above.
I had the colour blue (okay it looks more a turquoise in the photo!) I had a panel of blue behind the top image. The image is flowers in a row and I even stamped them twice as had Michele .Put my sentiment in the right hand corner ...I even had the (hand drawn) black line under the flowers! Then I went to post it and ..it looked nothing like Michele's :)
Just goes to show that everyone can take the same idea and run with it completely differently!

I have been card making for nearly four years and ok we should really discount the first year because I spent it just getting the basics together (and wasted a lot of money on buying things that didn't work for me) but since then I have spent time building up my stash ...but guess what for this challenge I didn't have a stamp that I could use apart from one that I got as a freebie in a craft magazine years ago! ..but actually it stamps pretty good and the sentiment I bought in that first year and it too has spent time languishing in a drawer. So thanks Michele for inspiring me to go on the hunt and on the way found some little gems!

Thanks to everyone who takes the time to look, and especially the ones who leave a comment ...they make my day.

Birthday boy

Hi there know I'm last minute for the Muse challenge this week, but we have been away in Glasgow for a few days and we have been really busy since we came home so have had no time at all to do anything crafty !Though I had plenty of thoughts about this weeks challenge the only one I really had time to do was this one.... which is inspired by Vicki's marvellous layout!
I also took inspiration from her stripes and (very) loosely her colour scheme ! The train and sentiment is from Clearly Besotted childs play set - loving these just now as you may well see and apologies about my promarkers colouring...it's a very fiddly image :)

Thanks for taking the time to look

Little princess

While browsing came across the Pink Elephant Challenge which is asking you to use pastel colours on your project and as this is my take on the challenge.I used a stamp from clearly besotted and coloured it in using promarkers baby pink and pale blue and grey. The image and sentiment is stamped in SU smoky slate.

Thanks for taking the time to look!

Addicted to CAs

I'm on  a roll this weekend..two cards one after the other....must be all that chocolate from the Easter eggs that I have eaten! :)

This one is inspired by a friend that when we were browsing birthday cards in a coffee shop asked, can she please have a card with a giraffe on it!

So had a wee trawl through the internet and found this stamp from Avery Elle and think it is so cute had to enter it to the challenge over at Addicted to CAS!
I stamped the sky with the clouds that come with the stamp and then lightly brushed over some blue pastel chalk until I got the shade I wanted then popped the giraffe in a frame .

Inside I have printed 'For someone who is head and shoulders above the rest!'
Hopefully she will be happy with it...

Thanks for taking the time to look

Card concept

Hi everyone hope you are having a good Easter weekend !

It's been  a wee while since I entered the Card Concept challenge but I  loved the colours in the photo above and came up with this idea but faffed about with it a bit too much I think so edges are not as clean looking as I would like and stamped my sentiment a bit too high so had to do a save ...but ah well these things happen and I would still send it so decided to still post it too!

Think it would fit the clean and layered category???
I used my favourite W9 flower set and as I didn't have any coral ink (need to rectify that because love this colour combo!)used a  Su marker pen in calypso coral, lucky limeade for the leaves and pool party cardstock for the aqua.

Thank you for taking the time to look

The Muse challenge this week  is inspired by this dramatic and bold card by Kristie Goulet!
I have been inspired by the circles , trees and birds within her card.Originally I tried using distress inks and I confess sometimes distress inks work with me and sometimes they don''t ...this time they didn't!!
So decided to go for a more muted look using chalks and a paintbrush (and hairspray to stick the chalks to the paper) In RL as usual it is a bit darker !
I then drew round the inside of a circle die with a sharpie pen (don't look too close :) )cut out that with the same circle and stuck them to the card.
And finally my sentiment is from SU.

Off to work shortly but thanks for taking the time to look!
