MCV7

Another driech day here in Aberdeen ..wish Summer would hurry up!but the good thing is its warm rain today :)...and perfect weather for cardmaking!!
When I saw Betty's magical card this week over on MCV was a bit stumped must admit techniques are not my strongest point so did my usual and made a list of the things that stood out and then shut off the computer so I wasn't tempted to compare mine with Betty's (,then they usually end up in the bin ).But the rules says to use the Muse as a starting point (good job as mine is nothing like Betty's gorgeous one with all those beautiful finishing touches!)
So here is my list:-
Reindeer ......................yup
Navy ,blue and white................... well ok a couple of the colours
Sentiment under the image.......................yeah
Stars ................... yes
Circle of thread...................does pierced circle count?
and finally bling........... plenty there :)
only thing missing is the watercolouring but I did try Betty ,honest!
I have added a close up of the beautiful mirrored stars as they don't photograph too good!

Have a lovely weekend and thanks for taking the time to look

Muse

It was our school's Summer fayre today so I have spent it making tea and handing out strawberries and cream (but typical Scottish weather it was overcast and dreary!)but hopefully we will get a good boost to the school funds!!
My husband then took me out for lunch so have now got a  wee while to make something for this weeks Muse Challenge .

Marion's card is simple beautiful and as the colours of the three balloons just pop out at you went with that for my card and kept it really simple.I used  Uniko studio's circle from the round in circles set in roughly the colours that Marion used and to finish added a sentiment by Altenew.

Hopefully it will do one of my nephews birthdays as I am running low on male cards!
Now hopefully will manage to make one for the MCV challenge 7 too
;)
Thanks for taking the time to look

Timeout

This week  I was asked to do a card for a Silver Wedding by a work colleague and when I made it I didn't like where I was going to put the sentiment so as I had already stuck everything down decided to make another .
This is the original  one  which was sentiment-less until I decided it would also do nicely as a wedding card so popped on a SU tiny tags Mr &Mrs and used a SU paper piercing stencil for the heart. The champagne glasses are diecut on glimmer paper and all popped up on a mounted square.
So was well chuffed when I then found out that the challenge this week is at Timeout is ......

'Happy is the Bride the Sun Shines on' :)

Thanks for taking the time to look

Muse 121

The next three weeks are soooo busy work wise that I will be escaping to my craft room as much as I can fit in to de-stress by the looks of things,.... and then it is the summer holidays yay! :)
:
But today the sun is shining and I had a little time to myself so when I saw this weeks Muse challenge by Michele, I remembered that I had the stamp that matched this embossing folder so my card is not such a 'muse' as a straight out copy! although I did add a few twists of my own -only because I didn't have some of the things:)
and  remember that old saying Michele .... to copy someone is the most sincerest of flattery!!!)
:)

For my card I used an old Su set for the leaves and flowers in SU lucky limeade and a hero arts navy ink, and the sentiment is by Altenew .Really simple as you can see.

But thanks for taking the time to look

CAS(E) this sketch

I can't believe it but this is my 3rd post this weekend ,there is just too many good challenges out there just have to take part!:)

When I saw CAS(E) the sketch this week I just had to give it a go too ..and of course it had my favourite rectangle in the middle !:)

I know it doesn't look like it but first I stamp the image UNDER the rectangle, then I stamped it on TOP of the rectangle and placed the rectangle so that the flowers fitted each other. Before finally adding another one that I had coloured, using a blender pen and ink, and fussy cut out before popping it on top at an angle so I was left with 3 flowers like in the sketch instead of 4.
To finish I added liquid pearls to the stamen - I originally coloured them yellow but they looked a bit  flat and the white of the pearls has picked up the yellow so they are more gold now!I also used the faintest of pinks to colour the edge of the flowers and also the edge of the rectangle...it is slightly more noticeable in RL!
.
The sentiment is from an old SU set called Just believe (I cut off the 's' of the friends, because I never used it)
Thank you for taking the time to look

Make the day special

I've been shopping at the Make the Day Special online store for a wee while now, as they stock all the American stamps and dies that are sometimes hard to find here in the UK,but had never realise that  they do a challenge too ...Doh!
The challenge this time is a colour one and I chose to use the colours pink, yellow and turquoise. This is such a bright and cheery colour combo, don't you think??

I went to one of my favourites - a  W9 florals and a mama elephant sentiment (love the big and bold happy!) and then popped them onto a Lawn fawn stitched rectangle die.

Hope you like it and thanks for looking

MCV5

This week Kimberley is the Muse over at MCV with this stunning white on white card !
Kimberleys card inspired (and challenged me as sadly lacking in stash to make a scene as stunning as hers!)  to follow the circle in the centre of the card and my scene is made up of a cheery lyn Santa and sleigh and a clearly besotted cityscape cut out in linen card stock.I sprinkled some glitter on the sleigh.I stamped the sentiment in red - SU cherry cobbler - as a tribute to Santa's colours and popped a small snowflake on the edge to bring the elements of the city and the sentiment together, and there you have it!

Surprisingly this only took me two goes!
Thank you so much for looking!

Muse #120

This weeks Muse is Vicki Dutcher and this is to be her last week as our Muse, she is stepping down from the design team :(,so thought that I would make this weeks card a thank you for the many inspirational cards Vicki has made.

When I saw Vicki's card, I first thought to do the three butterflies, but somehow they ended up all being put on the one butterfly !

I have been  trying to change my layout away from my default setting of a rectangle in the middle ...so this time went for a circle instead, as Vicki's butterflies look as though they are in a circle in the middle of her card.

I diecut the clearly besotted thanks and a memory box butterfly.I loved the colours that Vivki had used so I incorporated them by daubing the 3 colours of Vicki's butterflies all mine over randomly and then popped it onto the card. This was such a simple card that I had to do two more in different colours!
