When ever I saw Anita's gorgeous card for the Muse challenge this week I kept focusing on the colours, those beautiful aqua green colours reminded me of the sea.
So walking home from work today I had a lightbulb moment and broke out my new Breezy waves die by memory box and cut out the waves after I had coloured a scrap piece of card with SU tempting turquoise and tumbled glass distress inks .Broke open some more new stuff -Lawn Fawn float my boat stamps. And finally for the sun I heat embossed in gold..... and I know you shouldn't say it but I really like this card - .although my husband queried the sentiment saying that it seemed to be a bit daft ,who would you send it to ? (the thought did cross my mind.... to the person who gives you CPR after that remark!) :)
Hopefully you can see how I was inspired but just in case :-
Gold embossing
Colours (loved the white lines between the colours in Anitas card so the waves are meant to mimic that too)
Thank you sentiment
and thank you for taking the time to look !
I would also like to enter this card to a new challenge for me, that I found through another blog (as you do!) and that is Pixie's Crafty workshop - all is required is to use up scrap paper or snippets on your card and I used that on most of that on this card from the panel, waves to the boat.
Jenni, beautiful caseing! Love that you changed the layout, but kept the colour scheme. Gold embossed Sun is just a perfect element!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great take on the Muse! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI am crazy in love with this, Jenni! I'm pinning, it's winning, it's simply stunning! Tell Mr. Jems that you could send it to: the person who stopped to help you fix a flat tire, brought you chicken soup when you were sick, picked up your dry cleaning, watched your house or your pet while you were on holiday, or just plain was a friend who listened to you vent about whatever needed venting. I mean, the possibilities are endless (but I like your CPR reason the best!!)! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteOHHHHHHH! My Goodness Gracious, Jenni! This is just the most amazing creation!! I love your spirit - I love your creative mind, and your friendship...

I just love that gold embossed sun-will have to remember that one! Isn't it great when you get those light bulb moments x
ReplyDeleteHi Jenni
ReplyDeleteSo glad you found us in the Playground, I see you came over from Susanne's blog - what a wonderful network of 'snippeteers' we have playing along. I hope you'll have fun and come back to play often.
And as for your card, it's absolutely fantastic! Wonderful design, fresh and just gorgeous colours - as well as great use of snippets too. Oh, I did giggle about the sentiment, I think it's just perfection - and I guess you'd be visiting your husband in Wards three. four and five if he'd said that here! That's a joke 'cos I know men don't always 'get it'. :) Darnell summed it up perfectly - a card for MANY lifesaving occasions.
Hugs
Di xx
Love your interpretation of Anita's card and the thought behind the design. Stef x
ReplyDeletewow, this stopped me in my tracks. Gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a clever take on the Muse - you have all the elements, but it's completely your own! So glad you joined us at Muse this week!
ReplyDeleteWow, I love how you took all the different parts of my card and reconstructed it to create this stunning beauty! Such a clever design.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for playing along at Muse this week, Anita x
Show-stopping, breath-taken-away gorgeous! You've translated the MUSE card wonderfully with your boat on the seas, creating a card that has planted a smile all over my face. Darnell's right: so many occasions for such a card. Husbands: sometimes they just don't get it (mine falls into that category on occasion *grin*) Definitely a winner in my books!

Waving hello from the Snippets Playground. xxx
Wow your card is beautiful Jenni. I had to smile at your husband's comment. I have a hubby who says things like that too. Barbxx
ReplyDeleteLove your card, Jenni. Also, like how you got your idea.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love this!
ReplyDeleteHi Jenni, saw your card highlighted at the Snippets Playground, & so happy you found this great place to visit. Lovely friendly folks too. Your card is just fresh & delightful, with the MBox rolling waves & sailboat, and what a perfect sentiment to go with the nautical motif. (and I'm still chuckling at your thoughts about who you could give the card to :-). The golden glow of the sun over those blue waves and the dancing boat were such perfect elements to combine with the sentiments to show appreciation to someone. Loved the texture of the design on the inside too. Well done! Just became your newest follower and hope to see you in Blogland. TFS
