Muse DT

Can't believe that the school holidays are over already where did the six weeks go !
But never mind at least when this posts over at Muse I will have done my first morning in and only another 8 weeks to go before the next holidays  :)
Again I used  a linen look card because when you use such a small image it fills in the white space and  I feel that it makes your  image pop more .
I punched the candles out and diecut out the square, backed them first with the glittery paper and then with orange card before die cut out another square .finally stamped my sentiment...thank goodness for the mini misti!

This sounds such an EXTREMELY simple card doesn't it?? well it took me 5 goes to do the row of candles evenly spaced out and then it took 4 goes to get the orange of the flames to be all even too !! why ?? I don't know:)

Hoping it will inspire you to join in with us this week ....maybe you'll find your candles will be on a cake or will it be the rainbow colours or the glitter paper ???what ever inspires you I can't wait to see you in the gallery!

P.s and thanks for taking the time to look

  1. So glad to hear that I'm not the only one who has multiple 'takes' on my (pretty much all, actually) cards! Love the simplicity of this! Can't wait to see how everyone will be inspired!

  2. A charming set of glittery candles, Jenni! Makes me smile! I'm gathering, from your post, that you're a teacher; so am I (only part-time though...been doing this for a LOT of years so needed to cut back). We start back on Aug. 31st, with the students arriving after the Labour Day weekend. I'm so NOT ready to return! Wishing you a fabulous 'new' year!

  3. Please tell us the source of your linen-look cardstock. I love the slight texture it gives to cards.

  5. It was well worth the effort of re-making it until you had it just right as the finished card is just gorgeous! I love those glittery candles and the linen cardstock really does make them pop!
