Flower

This week both the Less is More and CAS.ology ( click on the cue card above to take you to their site) challenges have chosen FLOWER for their theme and feeling in the mood for some soothing craft therapy used pool party ink and gently swished it over my card base which is a creamy shimmery one, then inked up this 'fabulous' (in more ways than one!!) sentiment from Uniko Studios in the Pool party stamped it then masked the smaller flower around the sentiment - but still thought there was something lacking?...it wasn't til I was walking to work and walked by a huge pile of dandilion clocks that I remembered my dandilion clock stamp ,loved how it looked when I stamped it .
Quite pleased how this one looks in RL but it was very hard to photograph this as the colours are quite subtle and I tried highlighting it through Picasa but it washed out the colour more so sorry ladies best i could do!!
Thanks for taking the time to look and will pop over and have a look at your creations too.

Muse

Hoping that I make this weeks challenge over at MUSE where the the challenge was set by Marion Vagg...
... isn't it just so bright and cheerful!
Just had to give it a go but as usual just couldn't get my mojo to play ball until this last half hour so fingers crossed I make it in time!
I stamped 3 flowers off the edge (just as Marion has) in scattered straw distress inks then cut out four squares ,rounded two edges and then as it seemed to need something to tie them all together added the flower in the middle with of course a gem to finish off.
I seem to be loving all these bright and bold colours at the moment, only problem is I really should be doing some birthday cards for friends but Mr Mojo is having none of it ....am I the only one who struggles with girly cards ?I see some beautiful inspiration out in blogland but when I try to recreate it I'm never happy and they usually end up in the bin! Aw well will have a think tonight, beats counting sheep anyway.
Hope you all have had a great weekend and once again thanks for taking the time to look

a dogs life...

This afternoon I has a little while to play before heading out to do a few things so decided to have a browse to see if anything caught my eye and a few challenges did.
The first was The Male room Challenge where they are asking for 'Man's best friend /pet
Addicted to Stamps and More are asking for  Anything Goes!
And finally Cas on Sunday's challenge is for a Birthday to Die for (using diecuts)

I straight away knew that i wanted to use this image that a kind blogger sent me, have used it before but usually with the sentiment that's about snoring ! I coloured it in using my promarkers and then scored the bottom band of sahara sand  (reminded me of a fence or slats of a dog house !).Then printed out the words about a dog's life (would have liked it to run round the diecut circle but couldn't get it to work out :( ...but maybe next time!),
before stamping the Happy Birthday sentiment from Su on a scrap piece of the sahara sand.
Hope you are all having a great Easter weekend and hopefully the sun is shining where you are as it is here !

card concept 7

The challenge over at the Card Concept is to use a butterfly theme on your card, now you would think that would be easy ......that is unless you're trying to pack for a short break with just me and hubby and organise leaving the two 'boys' on their own (don't want them to starve now do we !!) so had thought that I would miss it but think I have made it by the skin of my teeth!
But now that the washing is on and the house (was remarkable tidy ,even washing machine AND dishwasher had been used!!!) nipped upstairs to have a wee play and this is what I came up with.(The butterfly I fussy cut but think I should have wore my glasses :-)!)
Think it meets the criteria for freestyle as there is a mixture of unrelated elements ,hope so as I am determined to try all of the different styles!

Supplies used :-
Butterfly distress inks - mustard seed and tumbled glass
Su bajs breeze ink ,french foliage text, flowering flourishes, thank you from faith in nature
flowers- xcut small punch
Thank you for looking

Dynamic Duo's

Saw the challenge at Dynamic Duos and liked the idea of mixing these two colours together. Only had a scrap of the turquoise left so that kinda pointed the direction that I had to go and with this bold colours decided to let them do all the talking!!
I wish I could remember the name of the dies but its one I use a lot  as so over time the packaging tore and now in an unnamed box ! do know that it came as a set of dies and stamps. The textures paper is from SU as is the sentiment .
Well off to do the ironing put it off long enough :-(
But thanks for looking

Wheels and round and round

The challenges at Addicted to CAS and Less is More compliment each other perfectly so I have made a Father's Day card (which of course you do the day before Mother's day!!) and of course another male card from me! I used spellbinders round dies and a background stamp (Round in circles) from Uniko studio and  a  motor bike charm from my stash (did a close up so you can hopefully see it better) and sentiments from SU.

I have also invested in a daylight lamp and though it was better it still wasn't clear so I made a"lightbox" from an old cardboard box and white tablecloth and what do you think... has it made my photos better ???

Well thats all from me and I will try to get  round to look at all you fabulous cards, have been very lax lately due to working full time and my fibromyalgia playing up.Crafting helps by distracting me and I can always stop when it gets to painful but the computer mouse irritates my joints too much...thats why my family kindly bought me a hudle for Christmas which I do use - now that I have worked out all it's functions !!!
Hope you all have a good weekend !

Muse challenge # 59

This is my third posting since last Thursday ...guess being back doing my normal work hours - yay- has given me a boost, and so have spent a great afternoon in my crafty place and tried a few variations of this weeks MUSE card tried bright colours ...even went neon at one point , but none were making me happy until I noticed that they had one theme in common....a repeating pattern going across the way and in rows,(and maybe my card isn't as eyecatching and cheery as Marion's but it really did inspire me!!)Once I had sussed that out the card just came together in a flash *tongue in cheek* :-)  - Pity that the photograph didn't was all over the house trying to get a brighter picture it was either too bright that you could see my shadow in the photo or too dull ,but will keep trying and see if I can get a better picture!

Well I managed to get a slightly better picture on my blog (shows the true colour anyway) but the one on the thumbnails at MUSE is still dark and don't know how to change it there ,any suggestions gratefully received! (even managed to play around and got my signature on it (proud moment) only took me close to three hours all in all ...not bad for me! :-)

Supplies used:-
White cardstock from stash
Baja breeze SU ink and cardstock
Gems from stash
Butterflies (a gift )
Hello sentiment Su tiny tags
Hope you are all have a great week
