Saying that I wasn't sure if I would manage this week to make a card as have been a bit under the weather ,the wee ones in nursery have all been going off sick with a virus that they have kindly shared with the staff :) but thankfully it seems to be getting better now.
So I thought that I would join in over at the colour me! challenge which is for the colours Navy and White. I went with the predictable Christmas card using the navy as the night sky and sentiment (loving the SU endless wishes set using for all kinds of occasions!),I don't really have a Christmas tree that was suitable for this kind of card except for this one, decided to use white pigment ink from SU ...well maybe I'm not using it right but it doesn't stamp well this took two sheets of paper to get these three and they are not that great !and even though I heat set the pigment ink for ages it still smudged grrr.

Then as I have no navy ink pad ( can you believe that!) used a SU night of navy pen to do the sentiment,oh and the snow in the background I used two old brushes rubbed them together to get the splatter (still had to heat set it) and tore scrap paper for the drifts.
Thank you for taking the time to look.

Jenni, your sky is GORGEOUS! It looks like a night time photo. Awesome card! :D Julia CMCC
ReplyDeleteI think it looks fine too, I love the sky! Never used pigment ink so can't help you there :) x
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous wintery scene! Thanks for playing with us at colour me...!
ReplyDeleteReally lovely card! I like the way your trees break out of the frame. The sky splatter technique has worked brilliantly.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on all the well-deserved recognition, Jenni!! There is nothing that encourages us more and you are on a roll!! Your night sky card may have been predictable with the navy challenge, but your execution of it certainly isn't! It is really extraordinary how realistic you made it look! I hope you continue to feel better!! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteSuch a serene scene! I love your splattered snow night sky! What a wonderful technique! Thanks for playing along with us at Colour Me!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading how you had to forage for supplies to make your card, Jenni. We've all been there! You've made this gorgeous serene scene look so effortless. I really love how the trees came out. Thanks for sharing with us at Colour Me!
