Hi there hope everyone is well and enjoying the Summer ,for Scotland it was looking not bad with plenty of sun until this week and itis now  back to rain again.Having a few wet eveninsg I was able to finally finish this card for the
CAS Christmas Card Challenge who asked for our card to be themed around the Nativity.

I love the Paper Smooches nativity stamp set but hadn't used the one above yet and Im really happy how it turned out....hoping you do to!.
(I dont know about you but its funny the things you struggle with when making a card and on this one it was the stripes on Josephs headdress they kept going wavy or maybe i just have a very shaky hand!:)

Merry Christmas

What a faff this card was !!!

I decided to join in at the challenge over at
Cas Christmas challenge which this month is for winter berries ,but if it could go wrong with this card it did.... and then I had decided that it was looking a bit plain so cut out a green mat and then I went and stuck it down without putting it on!!!
oops...but it is done now and was intending to do it again (but layering up that die cut merry christmas from Clearly Besotted had me cross eyed the first time
let alone the other three times I had to do it!) and to top it our wee man is teething at the moment so not getting a lot of time in the evening .Last week he got his first tooth then three days later another one,but he kindly was up in the evening but not through the night so I cant complain - except its cutting down the time I can make cards :)
Thanks for taking the time to look I really appreciate it.

Friends make the holidays

I am sorry but I having some technical issues with my phone and my laptop syncing ???but I called in my IT specialist (my hubby :)! ) so hopefully these have been resolved now.But it meant that I had to delete my other post and start again ,but hey ho Im still relearning what to do  :) and also thanks Michelle for pointing out what had happened ,and so back to my card...

I found a Christmas card challenge that appealed to me over at

Their theme is to simply use a stamp,so I used this Stamping Bella one and then I hit another problem a lot of my marker pens have dried out :(  ...but thankfully  I have managed to ordered new ones ;) but that might be why the friends look like they are sitting in a mucky puddle ! Well that and my poor colouring of  shadows :)

It has been over two years since I have joined in with any card challenges due to me being busy with a change of career as a foster carer ... though I did continue to make cards I just had no time to post them.
So when I was ready to dip my toes back in I found while browsing the
Cas Christmas Card challenge. It really caught my eye and imagination I found myself heading straight for an old Clearly Besotted stamp set I have.
I used chalk to make the background and perfect pearls for the snow.I then adhered my coloured images and stamped the sentiment .....and since then I
have been humming and singing the song Santa baby all day long !!!

Thank you for taking the time to look ,now off to see if I can remember how to post this card on their blog site :)

Seven hills Craft Challenge

Over at the SevenHills Craft challenge we have been asked to pick one of these  colour palettes and to make a Christmas themed card.,I chose the last one which can be interpreted as either gold and silver or blues grey and browns.

I chose to use silver for the dove and gold for the olive branch and to make it involved taping off  the branch and heat embossing the dove and then taping off the dove and heat embossing in gold the branch....and a LOT of hair tearing .:)
The paper smooches image is usually much sharper but I had to  emboss it twice as there was gaps!!Its maybe not the best heat embossing that I have done but it might have been the texture on the linen cardstock that I decided to use that was causing the problem! But apart from that I am happy how it turned out in RL

I then mounted it on gold mirror card.
Before mounted that I then heated embossed the sentiment again from PS in silver.

Muse Christmas Visions no.2

This is my take on Elizabeth's second card over at MCV and I admit that it kinda went off on a tangent....
You see discovered I  don't have a  branches stamp so then I had to think of something else so thought branches  = trees! with me so far?
Then I found my little cottage one and I just love it  and so from that this card was born !
So my inspiration came from :-

Branches (well trees have branches dont they??) and Elizabeth's are pine branches!
Inky backgound
Colours blue ,black and yellow
Image to the left of the card  ...Ok I'm reaching with that one :)
Has intended to put on  a white sentiment but had a senior moment and had inked and stamped it before I remembered !!!

But thanks for looking

Muse:Christmas Visions

This week over a Muse:Christmas Visions  they have a Guest Designer and it is none other than ElizStewart and she has given us not one but two cards to play along with !

For my card I chose the snowflake one ...Isn't it a beauty loved that diecut snowflake in the middle!
(hoping time allows and I can have a go at doing an inky background one like Elizabeth's second card too!)

I found my eye drawn to the word Joy and the snowflakes on Elizabeth's card so I went with that .
I found my inspiration from:-
The word Joy
The sparkly snowflake
and finally the tiny bits of bling - gems
