Hi there at the Craft Barn this week the challenge is to make a colourful tag.Been wanting to do one of these for a while think they're great,but the problem is that I like the 'arty' ones with lots of different techniques and 'bits' on them - but when I do it it just looks messy !!!, and it doesn't help that I think if you make something it should have a purpose and decorative isn't enough!So decided to use the tag to show the techniques that I have learnt in this year of card making - Stamping ,embossing(butterflies),masking and
using distress inks (hard to believe I know but never used them until today) but only had 4colours and so inked all over the tag in mustard seed then added barn door ,rusty hinge ,and immediately thought of a sunset - again, but I do like these little scenes :-) and the dark shade in front of the sun is old paper.
Then added a little reminder to myself at the bottom "Keep It Simple" (cut out from an old dictionary). sorry but it is so small that it just doesn't photograph well.
And thanks to Avril ,will now also be entering it into Fashionable Challenges who's theme is butterflies or bugs.

A tip, you might find useful, I create looooooooots of backgrounds by just palying with inks gesso, and acrylic paints. These I stash, so when I need something in a certain color, I just go through them. I have them stashed by color... EAsy Peasy. SAme with tags, The tag you commented on, I made a while back, I did write on the backside 'acrylic paint', so when I use it, I know how I created it. This is handy, because I get published 'a lot'..
