The Challenge # 48, CASologyand the Playground

My husband is feeling poorly ...its a cold!:) so we decided to have a lazy day ...Yay means I got to play in between housework etc and I had been browsing through my favourite blogs and I found that The Challenge this week is all about weddings .

Great, I have to make a anniversary card thought that I would give it a go.,,and this is what I came up with so not only made one that said for anniversary I made another one for a wedding day too !.

Must admit on my phone the & in this picture looked more silver than it does on the table top one ..oops but I did stamp the heart with a 'flowery' stamp (clearly besotted) so hopefully that is enough inspiration from the photo to qualify!

My sentiment is from Mama Elephant.

It is also a while since I played over at CASology and the cue word is :-

Perfect so will be entering my card over there too.

Finally I would like to add my card over at the Playground  as I have been playing hooky lately and have missed all the fun behind the bikesheds! :(

Timeout

This week  I was asked to do a card for a Silver Wedding by a work colleague and when I made it I didn't like where I was going to put the sentiment so as I had already stuck everything down decided to make another .

 This is the original  one  which was sentiment-less until I decided it would also do nicely as a wedding card so popped on a SU tiny tags Mr &Mrs and used a SU paper piercing stencil for the heart.The champagne glasses are diecut on glimmer paper and all popped up on a mounted square.

So was well chuffed when I then found out that the challenge this week is at Timeout is ......

Wedding and Christening

This weekend I have been busy doing some orders.

One of my work friends is going to a wedding and asked if I could make her a money wallet and card so this is the one she picked ,I have made one like this before but isn't it funny how we either add something or take away so you never really make the same card twice.!I added the middle square and the tiny diamantes at the top of the hearts this time and made the matching wallet...hopefully she will be pleased when I personalize it as requested

The second card is a christening card for my friends little girl.I really struggled with this one so in the end kept it really simple and mounted the front panel on pale pink card and hung a rocking horse charm from the ribbon ...but oh boy now I know why I never add ribbons ! I ended up calling in  a friend,thanks Susan!but still not happy with the ribbon wanted it to look the same on both sides! can this be done or am I being too much of a perfectionist?? 

So that has been my week so far hope you are having a good one where you are!

'TAKE A STAMP'

CRAFT STAMPER MAGAZINE

This week I have been struggling with my mojo it went on holiday without me !and the last few cards I have made have left me feeling dissatisfied with how they turned out.

But must admit loving this one thi is a me card ...if you know what I mean. I see so many beautiful cards out there in blogland using so many techniques and long to copy oops case them, but they never turn out right obviously I am just a plain and simple gal!

When I saw the Muse and the Card concept challenges this week my mind was just went blank, but when I was walking home from work today the idea for the muse challenge heart popped into my head - hearts and flowers like Julies card then I had the idea to back the heart with the colours from the Card Concept challenge and after lots of searching found a couple of sentimens that fitted ( I don't have many LOVE sentiments, originally I did the sentiment in gold embossing but as it is so tiny you couldn't see it!) 

I think my card would fit the clean and simple for the card concept.
also noticed that my card would fit over at the Craft Stamper Magazine challenge as it is anything goes as long as there is a stamped image on it!

Pinstripe wedding card

This week at CAS.ology the cue card is stripe and had a few ideas that were floating about but it wasn't til I saw the challenge at The Card Concept -to create a wedding card, that it all came together... at weddings you see pinstripes ,morning suits  - well maybe not here in Scotland where it does tend to be kilts ,though have to say that my husband wore a morning suit for our wedding 27years ago.

So to get back to the card as friends will tell you I do tend to wander of the point at times!...thats where I got my idea from for the stripes on my card.Paper pierced around the hearts so that hopefully they pop a bit more on the card. The flowery flourish and the sentiment from SU I thought fit neatly into the card concept challenge photo inspiration but not sure exactly what style of card it fits in ...clean and layered ? I would love to think it would fit in the Classy and Elegant one,never done one of those before!

Realise that the photo is a bit on the dark side but when I used Picasa it turned the card base pink!

Happy Birthday LIM!

Kraft & Kreme

To-day is the Less is More challenge and its also their 2nd birthday so Happy Birthday to you all and well done and to many more birthdays!

This was the first ever challenge I took part in and do try to do it every week when time and inspiration allows ,and boy I'm glad I did! what a lot I have learnt from the divas and from the rest of you bloggers. (Though I had to laugh when I remarked to my youngest son that he spent too much time on face book and he quick as flash said" it's not that much different from your blogger ,I chat with my friends and so do you" and he's right I have made new friends through blogging, world wide)
But I digress so back to my card ,after last weeks hair tearing this one made itself practically ...Kraft is something that I rarely use so all I had was a piece about 3x3 in my scrap paper!
Punched my hearts and squares stamped the stripes, spots (Confetti) the tag and sentiment  (Tiny tags) all SU pierced two holes and threaded through some scrap raffia and tag.
Thinking to put it away for our anniversary later on in the year for hubby,and would definitely use Kraft more often now !
Now off to have a peep at all of yours x

Hi everyone did anyone find this as difficult as me? For being such a simple sketch for this weeks challenge at Less is More I found it amazingly hard ! think I was over thinking it :-) and that it why it has taken me til to-day to get it done,that and the fact that it has been such a miserable week but today we even got a blink of sun (pretty sure I suffer from SAD always just want to hibernate when its dull and driecht outside ...or eat hee he but with that bit of sun flew through the housework ! Also found the Addicted to CAS challenge and this fits in perfectly there too!

Back to the card I used a SU roller music stamp and SU heart punch and  did the sentiment on the computer.

Still have a bit of time before making tea so off to have a lookie at all your creations,thanks for looking x

Black and white and a touch of colour

           First off I'd like to wish everyone a 

                            Happy New Year!!

Hope you all had a great time over the festive period and didn't over indulge too much ...like I did (back on the diet this week)

Then I'd like to say its great to be back and finally able to do some cardmaking !!! elbow is now on the mend though the computer is still out for a wee while ...but using my sons tablet isn't using a computer /mouse is it ?hee he

This is my offering for this weeks challenge at Less is More where it is :-

BLACK and WHITE 

 a touch or a splash, a hint or suggestion, a dab or a  patch of 

a colour of your choice!

I'm gonna be honest here and say that this is the card I started for the anniversary challenge and never quite got finished,have kept it very simple and stamped  the hearts using SU stripes and  fresh vintage stamps .The sentiment is computer generated using Brock script and added the pink heart gems from stash.

(Didn't get a new camera for Christmas cos think its not the cameras fault , I just take bad photos! and even editing in picasa doesn't help much)

I made a new years resolution that I will try to comment as much as possible but now due to the tennis elbow will limit the time I spend on the computer but I promise I will get round to all the people that I've missed eventually ,have seriously missed the friendliness of all you bloggers,but my husband says he's enjoyed my company ...absence obviously does make the heart fonder :-)
